Does my diploma even qualify?
A US high-school diploma alone often isn't direct university entrance qualification (Hochschulzugangsberechtigung) — AP scores, college credit or a foundation year (Studienkolleg) can bridge it, but the right bridge depends on your record.
The language question
English-taught bachelor's programs exist but are unevenly distributed; German-taught programs need proof of level. Planning determines which doors are realistic.

Is German university really that affordable?
Public universities in Germany charge no or low tuition for most programs — typically only semester fees — and Austria's public fees are modest by US standards. Living costs and (for non-EU students in some cases) specific fees still apply, so we plan with real numbers for your situation.
We're a military family in Germany now. Does that help?
Being in-country helps with visits, language exposure and logistics, and studying near family can be a real advantage — but admission itself runs on qualifications, not location. We plan for the requirements first.
